Fresh Bread

I love some fresh bread.

 

There are not many things in this world better than fresh bread. There are many unnecessary ingredients in store bought bread. Some of which we don’t even know what they are.  Today I am going to share my favorite recipe that uses only four ingredients.

 

Bread machine   I use a bread machine to make my bread, it makes things so easy and if you get the right machine you can even do things like make jam, churn butter, and bake cakes. In the picture is my bread machine I found at the good will for five bucks.

        There are many perks to a bread machine, you can make your bread while your out working, you don’t have to worry about stopping what your doing to wash your hands and kneed your dough, and you can even set it to have fresh bread ready for you in the morning when you wake up.

     To make bread the way I like to you will need to have a bread machine, a measuring cup, a teaspoon, flour, water, yeast, and salt. This is the way that works best for my bread maker, you may need to adjust a little to get it perfect for yours.Bread tools

First I put 1 cup of warm water into the bread machine pan, next add 2 cups of flour on top of the water. I usually make a little dent in the middle of the flour to add the yeast. Add 2 1/2 teaspoons of yeast into the little dent you made in the flour. Now take 2 teaspoons of salt and spread it along the edges of your bread pan, take care not to mix the salt and yeast, it just seems to work better that way.

Bread dough     The settings I use on my bread machine are,
white>light>rapid.
In my machine this setup takes 2 hours and 40 minutes. After you hit the start button it will churn for a bit, when the beep goes to add extra ingredients, check the consistency of your dough, you may need to add flour if its too gooey or water if its to clumpy. Now here is what I really like about bread machines, you are pretty much done. It will take awhile for the bread to finish but you don’t really have to do anything else, so you can go about your day.

Then the timer dings and says your bread is done, be careful getting your bread pan out of the machine. It has just baked at 350 degrees for 30 minutes so it is going to be hot. Flip the loaf out of the pan onto a plate, be sure to check that the paddle that kneads the dough isn’t stuck in the bottom of the loaf.Bread

It is a good idea to let the bread cool for a bit, I’d say 30 minutes to an hour should be good enough. If you don’t, when you go to slice the bread it will just smash together. You will need a bread knife of some sort to cut the bread, a typical knife does not work well. I prefer to use a slicer but that’s just me and I happen to have one around to use.
